"THE VALUE OF EMOTIONS COMES FROM SHARING THEM, NOT JUST HAVING THEM."
- SIMON SINEK

I don't believe that depression and anxiety are disorders. To me, they are not diseases to be coped with, managed, or controlled.

Rather, they are signs.

They are signs that you are having trouble talking openly and honestly about difficult emotions, like sadness, fear, shame, and anger.

They are also signs that you are having trouble getting your needs met, because difficult emotions are always connected to unmet needs -- our human needs for safety, security, belonging, love, confidence, and a sense of self.

As a psychotherapist specializing in Emotionally Focused Therapy, I can help you:

-
Identify the emotions that you are feeling

-
Track the needs your emotions are searching for

-
Come up with ways for you to get your needs met and attend to your emotions.

Once you get to the emotions underlying your depression and anxiety, you may realize that dealing with your symptoms and life's challenges is not as exhausting and difficult as you once thought.

But it all begins with getting open and honest about your emotions.
